FAQs
Does TNT provide references?
Yes. We have a past customer list available upon request, and our Google reviews showcase feedback from past clients. Many of our clients also have dedicated portfolio pages on our website where you can see completed work firsthand.
What safety standards does TNT follow?
Safety is built into our operations at the instructor level. Our team includes FRACO certified swing stage instructors and installers, as well as frame/brace scaffolding and systems scaffolding safety instructors. These are not just certifications we hold but credentials our people actively teach.
How large is the TNT team?
We have over 20 team members, with the capacity to run multiple crews on concurrent projects across our four-state service area. We are a merit-based contractor, with advancement tied to skill, certifications, and on-the-job performance.
Does TNT self-perform all work or use subcontractors?
We self-perform all masonry restoration work with our own crews and equipment. For specialty trades outside our core scope, such as lime plastering, window restoration, or historic carpentry, we bring in trusted subcontractors with proven expertise in those disciplines.
What certifications do TNT employees hold?
Our team members hold FRACO certifications for swing stage installation and instruction, frame/brace scaffolding and systems scaffolding safety instructor credentials, lime putty restoration certifications (through manufacturer training programs), stone patching credentials, and product certifications from US Heritage, Sika, Tremco, and Prosoco. We also have certified deck coatings, sealant replacement, and air barrier installation professionals on staff.
What makes TNT different from a general contractor?
We are a specialty masonry restoration contractor that self-performs all masonry work with our own trained crews. General contractors typically subcontract masonry work out, adding cost and removing direct quality control. Our team holds product and trade certifications that most general contractors simply do not carry.
How long has TNT been in business?
TNT Tuckpointing was founded in 1993, giving us over 30 years of experience in commercial masonry restoration and historic preservation. That depth of experience means we have seen and solved virtually every type of masonry deterioration a commercial building can present.
How do I know if my building needs masonry work?
Common signs include crumbling or recessed mortar joints, cracked or spalling bricks, water staining on interior walls, and efflorescence (white salt deposits on masonry surfaces). If your commercial building shows any of these symptoms, the damage is progressing. Submit a request through our website or call us for an on-site assessment.
What is TNT's project philosophy?
We work with commercial building owners to develop long-lasting repairs within their budget constraints. That often means prioritizing the most critical work items first and phasing projects over multiple periods to match cash flow. Every project includes a closeout package with final photography, a written warranty, and product data sheets.

What is TNT's approach to historic preservation?
Approximately half of all our work is historic preservation. We employ lime-putty-certified restoration professionals and use historically accurate materials and methods to ensure repairs are structurally sound and consistent with the original construction. We work regularly with preservation consultants, architects, and engineers on projects requiring the highest standards of historic accuracy.

We self-perform all masonry restoration work with our own crews and equipment. For specialty trades outside our core scope, such as lime plastering, window restoration, or historic carpentry, we bring in trusted subcontractors with proven expertise in those disciplines.
What is the smallest and largest project TNT handles?
Our commercial projects range from $2,500 to the millions. Whether it is a targeted repair on a smaller commercial property or a multi-phase historic courthouse restoration, we work with owners to develop lasting repairs within their budget constraints and can phase work over multiple periods to match cash flow.
