Birdland and Ashworth Pool Buildings

The Birdland and Ashworth pool buildings are two of Des Moines' public pools. At Ashworth, that includes the Ashworth Park dedication memorial wall and its ornate stone entry pillars.

We restored the masonry with cleaning, stone patching, tuckpointing, concrete repair and new sealants. Pool buildings face water from every direction: splash, rain, wet decks and freeze-thaw all winter. The masonry has to be tight.

Restoring the memorial wall and entry pillars also keeps an important piece of the park's history in good shape for the city.
