Crescent Lofts

Concrete and masonry repairs on the six-story Crescent Lofts building in Davenport, Iowa.

Six-story Crescent Lofts building in downtown Davenport, Iowa, after concrete repairs

Spalling concrete means rusting steel. The repair has to treat the steel.

Market:

Crescent Lofts at 427 Iowa Street in Davenport is a six-story concrete and brick residential building. The exterior concrete had deteriorated and spalled, with pieces breaking away from the face.

Spalling concrete usually means the steel reinforcing inside it is rusting. As the steel rusts it expands, and that pressure pops the concrete off in front of it. A good repair removes the damaged concrete, treats the steel and rebuilds the surface. Skipping the steel just means the patch fails.

We completed concrete repairs and masonry repairs across the facade, and came back in 2026 for a second round. That's a common approach on a big building: work through it in phases so the owner can plan and budget for it.

This is the kind of work we do on commercial and residential buildings in Davenport: concrete repair.
