Tuckpointing (which is also known as repointing) is a specialized masonry repair technique that involves replacing damaged mortar between bricks, stones, or concrete blocks. It is the maintenance that is needed for a masonry building. The process involves removing the mortar to twice the joint width, and repointing it back with a matching mortar. Proper joint preparation is a key to longevity of the repair.
