ARRO Senior Apartments at 875 Edgewood Road in Hiawatha needed what a lot of buildings its age need: the sealant joints had reached the end of their life.

Sealant is one of the most overlooked parts of a building envelope. It fills the joints around windows, at expansion joints and where different materials meet, and it typically lasts about ten years before it hardens, cracks or lets go. Once it does, water has a direct path into the wall.

We cut out the failed joints, installed new sealants and applied waterproofing to keep water out of the building. For an apartment building full of residents, that's the kind of maintenance that heads off interior leaks before anyone ever sees a stain on the ceiling.
