TNT Tuckpointing Implemented Sage Intacct Construction in Less Than 2 Months Through Bangert Deployment

In October 2022, TNT Tuckpointing started looking for a new accounting system. By mid-November the decision was made, and the target date was aggressive: live on Sage Intacct Construction by January 1, 2023. The implementation finished in just under two months.

Why the timeline mattered

January 1 was not an arbitrary date. A fiscal-year cutover keeps financial and tax reporting clean: one complete year in the old system, one complete year in the new, and no mid-year seam to reconcile at close.

Payroll was the other driver, and moving it on January 1 was one of the bigger wins of the project. A clean calendar-year start means whole-year wage records and no split-year data to stitch back together at W-2 time.

What we were replacing

Sage 100 Contractor had served TNT for years, but it was built for a smaller, simpler business. As the company grew into multi-phase commercial and historic restoration work across several states, the gaps showed: job costing that arrived too late to act on, duplicate data entry between systems, and no clean way to connect accounting to the project management tools the field actually used.

Owning the setup

TNT implemented through Bangert's Enablement and Deployment program, which put the configuration work in our hands rather than handing it off entirely. That was a deliberate choice.

Josh Smyser was not closely involved in the earlier Sage 100 implementation, and setup decisions were made that he was not part of. The result was a system he never fully understood under the hood. Going into Intacct he wanted to be in the room for those decisions and understand how the system was being structured and why. That understanding pays off every time the system needs to be extended or adjusted.

The integration with Procore came through Sage Intacct's open API, which eliminated the manual re-keying between project management and accounting.

The return on it

Josh framed the payback simply in Bangert's case study: if the software lets the company handle 30% more projects without adding overhead, it pays for itself.

Sage Intacct became the financial backbone of TNT's best-of-breed stack, sitting alongside Procore and Salesforce. Bangert also produced a short video on the transition, which we shared in how TNT transformed its accounting with Sage Intacct Construction. Josh went deeper on the decision, including why TNT invested at roughly $3M in revenue, on Episode 31 of The Unofficial Sage Intacct podcast.
