Raising the Bar

This month, I want to highlight the Fort Des Moines Monument restoration project—one we knew from the start would be technically challenging. Between the historic requirements, custom stone fabrication, and tight site conditions, it was already a complex rebuild. Then a second monument was struck by a vehicle just as the project began, and the scope doubled overnight. That included pouring a curved reinforced concrete backup wall—something we had never done before. But that’s part of this work: new challenges show up, and we have to be willing to take the risk and trust our people to pull it off.
Chris Snyder, who we featured in last month’s employee spotlight, led this project in the field. He handled the layout, the sequencing, the stone coordination, and all the problem-solving that came with it. His leadership on a demanding project like this shows exactly why he’s such a valuable part of our team.
I’m extremely proud of the crew’s ability to step into unfamiliar territory and deliver at a high level. Every time we take on something new—and succeed—it raises the bar for what TNT can do. That willingness to adapt, learn, and execute is what keeps this company moving forward.
