Meet Victor Guzman

If you've stopped by one of our jobsites this past year, there's a good chance you've crossed paths with Victor Guzman. Victor has been with TNT for about a year now, but he's been in the masonry trade for nearly six. He came to it the way a lot of our best guys do: through family. Most of his relatives are masons, so working with brick and mortar wasn't really a career choice for Victor. It was just the natural next step.
These days Victor is one of our tuckpointers. Ask him what he likes most about the job, and he'll tell you it's the historic restoration work, the chance to see places he wouldn't have seen otherwise, and putting his hands on buildings that have been standing for a hundred years.
Speaking of a hundred years, when I asked Victor about his most memorable jobsite, the Cedar Rapids Courthouse came up right away. The building sits on its own island, set apart from the rest of downtown, and Victor was part of the crew that got it ready for its centennial celebration. Not a bad project to have on the résumé.
Off the clock, Victor stays busy. He's into fishing, cars and trucks, and horses. The biggest news this year, though, is at home: he and his wife welcomed their first son in October. He's also a dog dad to four, three Labs and a Chihuahua. The Chihuahua, I'm told, runs the house.
Glad to have you on the crew, Victor.
