We are nearing completion on a large stone patching project to the west elevation at Davenport Central High School in Davenport, IA. The project has been very interesting and challenging. While working closely with US Heritage (www.usheritage.com), we had 5 custom colors created to match the stone colors. We were able to successfully re-create the marbling of the stone with the appropriate colors and match the original contours. We will have more pictures up at a later date, but here is just a quick demonstration of what can be done when there is a partnership between material suppliers and contractors!
Here is a picture of the area after demolition and prep work (pay particular attention to the band below the top windows).
Here is a picture after the patching has been completed. Notice the recreated marbling and stone profiling on the banding.
These pictures are as the work is still in progress, so we hope to add more pictures of the project in the future. If you have a stone restoration project we would love to be a part of restoring it back to its original greatness!!
